The fundamental purpose of Power to Lead is to inspire Catholics to look at the horizon and make a difference to society. Since last 10 years, Power to Lead has been developing leaders to go beyond themselves and play their role as agents of change in the world.

Never thought I'd enjoy being back in a classroom again! Well this is exactly how I felt on the eve of my class every alternate Sunday at the Power to Lead program held at the Seminary. From the first full day class, where we'd begin at 8:30 am with breakfast chats, until 6 pm after mass, time really flew. Making new friends as we broke into groups and learning from each other as well as from eminent speakers made me feel like a student all over again.

The humble ant is a great example of what one can accomplish, irrespective of size. Carrying loads far greater than its size, it plans for the future, works hard, partners with others in teamwork and is highly disciplined. If an ant gets into the ear or the trunk of an elephant, it can cause the elephant to run amok. The ant can literally move mountains!

At a time when all was going well in my most comfortable life —I troubled no one and no one troubled me, I thought this was a good policy for a comfortable life; and then Power to Lead came along, to knock the comfort out of my life! Power to Lead made me realize that there is so much to do in the world around me and that there’s so much that I can do. Power to Lead has been very focused and clear in communicating the elements of Christian leadership. As I see it, Jesus is the ultimate management Guru and His management principles have stood the test of time!

The journey through this path of Power to Lead has been fantastic! It has imbibed in me the much-needed Christian values of leadership. Some of these values we learnt during our preparation for confirmation but sadly forgot during the course of our lives. These values have helped me develop as an individual. Power to Lead has also equipped me with some of the finance and management tools and concepts.

Time and tide waits for no man” is something we have all grown up listening to. But has it made any difference to the way we look at things? Can we live forever? The Mean statistical life span is approximately 68 years for Asians. Here’s a little example, consider ‘Ally’ 35-year-old male, 68- 35 = 33 years left on planet earth 33x365=12045 days left for Ally to accomplish all he wants.
